The songs

Talk like you really know the language

Sing like you’ve always known the song

Dance like you want to dance for ever more

And stay in the dance hall after everyone’s gone.

Tony was a composer of some note in the 1970s, composing popular music and musicals.  His most well-known piece was the musical "Tamburlane" composed to the lyrics by Adrian Mitchell.

It was after the success of the book "Music from Scratch" (published by OUP) that Tony stopped writing music, and he didn't return to composition until some 20 years later with the appearance of the "Snow and Rain" song cycle.

These songs have not been released at present, although Tony does perform them in public occasionally.   Snow and Rain consists of over 50 songs - they are slowly being added here with a very brief commentary in each case.
